Experience: I started playing in 2003 in Minnesota on a whim. I played on the college team and a few rec leagues. One of my teammates knew Emilee, and suggested I reach out when I get back to Chicago. Emilee brought me into the Chicago scene, taught me the brilliance of the break side, and I never looked back.
In real life: I wish I was playing frisbee all the time! But in between games, I play at being a structural engineer and volunteering with Engineers Without Borders.

Fun fact: My favorite defensive play is a Callahan, and my favorite offensive play is 1-2-3-4...O-line for life.

Experience: I played ultimate since my first year of university, in Australia. Since then I've played with many teams, the highlights being Sugar Magnolias (Newcastle), Nemesis, the Redhead team at league, and Dish.
In real life: I think about frisbee. I also love playing goaltimate, convincing other people to play goaltimate and socializing—especially with my 4 chickens.

Fun fact: My usual fun fact is that I play frisbee... I also once did a self-funded ultimate frisbee sabbatical in San Diego.

In real life: I work at Salesforce. I married my husband after meeting him at Gender Blender, and moved to Chicago in 2014, adding some Canadian to Dish's international roster. :)

Experience: I literally started playing frisbee to keep up with the cool kids. I moved to Chicago after playing soccer, basketball, and rugby all of my life. All of my newfound friends were ultimate players, so I joined in on the fun by starting with beach league and Dish.
In real life: I enjoy hanging out with some sick kiddos and trying to make them feel better. I am a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Lurie Children's Hospital.
Favorite tournament: Elite Select Chesapeake, but I'm convinced I would love Lei-Out.
Fun fact: In my 30 years of life I have lived in 5 states and 2 different countries.
Favorite Disney character: Baby Mumble from Happy Feet and Fivel from An American Tale. (I realize none of those characters are actually Disney, but I am going with it. :) )

I started playing club in 2011 with Spicy Tuna (5 years—captain my 3rd year). I have also played in a couple of leagues and on mixed teams at some fun tournaments. 
In real life: I have my undergraduate degree from UIUC in Community Health (Graduated in 2012). I have a clinical doctorate in physical therapy from Governors State University (Graduated in 2015). I am currently working as an outpatient physical therapist with DuPage Medical Group in Hinsdale.

Experience: I played pickup for a few years before joining the mixed club scene (Skyway for 2 years, Sever for 1). Switched over to women's to experience a different side of ultimate, but mixed will always have a special place in my heart.
In real life: I am a house inspector for mortgage companies. I basically spy on people all day.

Fun fact: I played my first tournament ever in jean capris. I was there to watch my sister play and they asked me to join them on the field—as a handler. All of my siblings have played some form of ultimate. My favorite moment from ultimate was when all four of us played on the same team together.

In real life: I am a high school teacher and teach all levels of Human Geography. I'm also a mama of two awesome and spirited boys—Jason (4) and Jonah (1). My husband, Josh Cooper (also a social studies teacher), is the one who got me to play ultimate when we started dating and we nerd it out all the time because he's been AROUND and then some on the ultimate scene.
Fun fact: My main sport is field hockey. I played for the University of Michigan and played in the Final Championship game. I also got to coach at Northwestern University as a 2nd assistant.

In real life: I am a graduate student at Northwestern. I am getting my PhD in molecular biology and my MPH. I basically study metabolism all day and play with mice.

Experience: I played on my college women's team from 2006–2009 (we never made it beyond sectionals). I captained my senior year though so I know the 9th edition like it was my job! I've played rec league and pickup since then, all over the country including in San Francisco, Berkley, and Omaha!
In real life: I'm a Ph.D. student at Northwestern. I'm a geologist and I study the climate system. I travel a lot for my research, with most of my summer spent doing remote fieldwork in the Arctic. Is this real life?
