Olorin's Review Criteria

These are the criteria that I use to review a course and determine my enjoyment rating. In the notes that I use in my database I weight each factor because some things are more important than others.

There are 3 groups: Design - Basics - Amenities. If you add up the score from each group you'll see the overall weight I attach to each section. Their weighting is in the order of 1. Design, 2. Basics, 3. Amenities. In other words Design is most essential, Basics are items that a good course should have, Amenities are nice touches to make a great course but not essentials.

When all of these factors are added up they DO NOT just spit out a rating number from a mathematical formula, though! In fact, I believe that is impossible because there are too many variables and possible permutations. Instead these factors inform my decision and offer objective criteria to base my rating on. Most importantly, keep clearly in mind that my rating is about my personal enjoyment of the course and how much I'd like to play there again, it is NOT meant to be a measure of a course's quality.
