Bryan Cartago earned 2 Gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze. These standings honored him the
Male All Around Grand Champion!

Another successful tournament! Ashley Short and Stephanie Lim competed earlier this month at the 15th Annual Wushu Collegiates hosted by UCLA. Stephanie Lim placed 1st in all four of her events capturing the Female All-Around title; changquan (nandu division), staff, broadsword, and open hand form. Ashley Short placed in 2nd in straight sword competing in the advance divisions for the first time.

Ding Wei Wushu Academy is now Champion Wushu Center.
On May 1st, 2010, Ding Wei's students represented Champion Wushu Center for the first time at the 18th Annual Chinese Martial Arts Tournament (CMAT) hosted by Cal (UC Berekley) Wushu. Arguably the largest and most respected tournament in the nation, CMAT continues to hold its distinct reputation promoting wushu year after year. Champion Wushu Center students were able to capture 8 Gold, 7 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals* and placing first in the Group Set event. Congratulations to all the competitors! We thank you for your support and will continue to strive to be champions!

Congratulations to Stephanie Lim, Bryan Cartago, Kelly Kim, Ashley Short, and Brian Tran; all of whom competed at the 14th Annual Wushu Collegiate Tournament this past weekend. Stephanie Lim earned All-Around Champion getting 1st in all four of her events. Bryan Cartago earned three gold medals. Kelly Kim earned two golds. Ashley Short earned a Gold and Bronze. And Brian Tran earned a Bronze in one event.
The next competition will be UC Berkeley's Chinese Martial Arts Tournament held on May 1, 2010!

Happy New Year everyone! We are looking forward to a fresh start to the new year. Five of Coach Ding's top students will be representing their respected colleges at the 14th Annual Wushu Collegiate Tournament hosted by the University of Oregon at Eugene. Four of Coach Ding's students place on national US wushu team!
Congratulations to Stephanie Lim for making the A team in the National Wushu Team Trials! Good luck to her as she prepares to compete at the World Wushu Championship this October in Toronto Canada.
Also congratulations to Tiffany Reyes for making the B team, to Kelly Kim and Karlee Yong for making the C team, and also to Bryan Cartago, Brian Tran, Jason Dung, Kevin Lowe and Kenny Leu for their exceptional performances at the wushu trials.
