I, Dinesh Kumar, born 26 August 1978 in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, graduated with electrical engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. Soon after my degree completion, I started working in a state financed project as a research associate at the same institute which lasted nearly one year. Afterwards, I also worked at the University of Barcelona, Spain, for over one year as a researcher in a European Union sponsored project where I supported methods to interpret and analysis seismological data. Later, I joined adaptive computation group of the center for Information System of University of Coimbra (CISUC) to work under the project MyHeart in July 2004. Being full time researcher over several these years I have worked in various research projects funded by European Union and Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation.
I earned PhD degree offered by the department of informatics of the University of Coimbra, Portugal in Information Science and Technology in June 2015. During my stay in Portugal, I gained research experience by working in the domain of signal processing for biomedical application, namely for cardiovascular diseases. While working, I managed to publish papers in well known conferences and journals of the respective research field. My more recent areas of research are mainly machine learning, adaptive signal processing, and time-frequency representation of signals for condition monitoring of machine and human. I teamed up with some colleagues of similar interests to carry out research work by submitting proposals and supervising students. I predominantly use MATLAB, C, and Python in my research work to implement algorithms for analysis tool.
