What is photography?
A picture is a secret about a secret, the more it tells you the less you know (Diane Arbus). You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved (Ansel Adams). To photograph: it is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart (Henri Cartier Bresson). You don't take a photography, you make it (Ansel Adams). Photography is an immediate reaction, drawing is a meditation (Henri Cartier Bresson). There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs (Ansel Adams). Sharpness is a bourgeois concept (Henri Cartier Bresson). You just have to live and life will give you pictures (Henri Cartier Bresson). I tend to think of the act of photographing, generally speaking, as an adventure... (Diane Arbus).

"Only a fraction of the camera's possibilities interests me - the marvellous mixture of emotion and geometry, together in a single instant."

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
Ansel Adams
