Blogging is certainly one tool that can be used for many different purposes…this reflective use of blogging is one example. ... From a teaching and learning perspective, the most important factor is the student learning objective…WHY are you having them do this? What makes it better than normal classroom activities and instruction? ( Ian O'Byrne)
I have used Blogger in many grade levels and for my own reflective learning. Most recently, I use Blogs in my community college online course as a tool for formative assessment. Each week, students write about their learning, reflecting on all assignments, and where they publish media they have created. The Blog is their learning journal which archives their work chronologically throughout the semester. They also share blog posts or media creations to the whole class Google+ Community where they comment and provide feedback. The Blog contains individual student learning and G+ Community contains the class collective works and discussions.
