MTTS 2025@IISER Pune
Instructions for the participants
Instructions for the participants
Participants should plan to arrive at IISER Pune by the afternoon of 25th May. For examination or other unavoidable constraints, a 1-day relaxation can be provided, and in such a situation, the participant must arrive on the morning of 27th May. Please write to the local coordinator (Diganta Borah) for approval of late arrival. Please visit this page for more updates before coming to IISER Pune.
Accommodation
Accommodation for the participants has been arranged in Hostel 1 (Boys) and Hostel 3 (Girls) at IISER Campus.
How to reach IISER Pune
Pune is well connected by air, rail and road to other major cities in India. The airport is located in Lohegaon. When arriving by train or bus, you can alight at either Pune Junction (main railway station and bus stand) or Shivajinagar station/bus stand.
ISER Pune is about 18 km from the Pune airport, about 10 km from the main railway station, and about 7 km from Shivajinagar station/bus stand. Ola, Uber, Rapido, and prepaid taxi/autorickshaw are available 24 hours at the airport and railway stations. We would advise that you please get the vehicle inside the campus, as it can be a fairly long walk from the gate with luggage.
Dining
All meals are arranged in the dining hall of the campus, which is in front of Hostel 1.
Things to bring
Bedding: Only a bed, a mattress, and a pillow will be provided. Participants should bring bed sheets, pillow covers, towels (preferably 2 of each), and mosquito repellent. A light blanket should also be brought as the nights are usually cold during the rainy season.
Bath: Buckets, mugs, etc., can be purchased from the local market or online (Bigbasket/Zepto/Blinkit, etc.). You can also use common buckets, mugs, etc, available at the hostels.
Stationery: Notebooks and pens will be provided. We will not provide bags.
Documents: Participants should bring the following documents:
1. Invitation letter from the local coordinator,
2. ID proof,
3. A bona fide certificate of your present course of study, and
4. An undertaking form duly signed by your parents.
Others: It's raining in Pune these days. You are advised to bring an umbrella. Also, since shoes might get wet, packing a pair of sandals would be a good idea.
Laundry service
Washing machines are available in both boys' and girls' hostels. Consult with the hostel managers to avail this service. An ironing facility is not available.
Venue of the lectures
All the lectures will be in the Lecture Hall Complex (LHC). It is about a 5-minute walk from the hostels.
Medical shop
There is a medical shop in Hostel 1 that operates from 9 AM to 10 PM. There are 24-hour medical shops and hospitals within 2/3 km from the campus. Taxi services (Uber/Ola/Radpido, etc.) are available around the clock. Note that MTTS and IISER will not bear any medical expenses.
