Our research group actively works with the problem of modelling, identifying, and implementing control solutions for different nonlinear dynamical systems. We focus on both theory and applications comprising intelligent transportation systems, smart grids, synthetic gene regulatory networks, among others. To deal with such applications, we exploit and combine optimal, adaptive and switching control strategies which allow to handle the classical problems in the control design caused by uncertainties in the model, nonlinearities, measurement errors and external disturbances.
We list some research topics that are of our interest
Switching control designs via contraction theory.
Estimation and control of piecewise systems
Hybrid adaptive control
Bifurcation tailoring
