Dhirendra Kumar
I am a staff Scientist at National Institute of Environmental and Health Sciences (NIEHS) at RTP, USA. I completed my Ph.D. entitled "Computational analysis of mass spectrometry based proteomics data to reveal novel translation products" from CSIR-IGIB & University of Pune, India under the supervision of Dr. Debasis Dash. My research interests include multi-omics data integration to understand epigenetic regulation of gene expression, developing computational tools for MS/MS proteomics data analyses, and proteogenomics for finding new genes and isoforms. Few highlights of my research experiences are as follows.
Staff Scientist at NIEHS with research on proteogenomics of Embryonic Stem Cells (ESCs)
Postdoc Fellow at NIEHS with project on functional characterization of Bivalent Chromatin in development and in cancers
Ph.D. (2010-2015) from CSIR-IGIB as Department of Science and Technology (India)-INSPIRE Fellow with thesis on novel proteogenomic tools for prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes
Endeavour Research Fellow (Apr. 2014-Oct. 2014) with Dr. Jason Mulvenna at QIMR-Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Brisbane, Australia
Master of Science (Bioinformatics) from Panjab University, Chandigarh. The top ranked university among all Indian educational Institutions
Proficient in PERL and R programming
