* Please feed (Hill’s Science Diet for Kittens Dry Food with L-Lysine and science
diet wet can kitten formula) Feed better Brand Foods -High Protein Diet- ingredients in pet food are listed in descending order by weight from largest to smallest. For example, if chicken is the first ingredient on the label then the pet food contains more chicken than any other ingredient.
*Mix in twice a day (morning and evening) wet food with dry also leave out in a feeder dry food until kitten is full grown
(NO RAW DIET)
* Feeding Tips: Fresh clean water is a must. If changing diet do it gradually mixing less of old diet with new over a 7-10 day period
* NO Cows milk or milk products like cheese
* HOWEVER, kittens love Goats milk or Kitten milk Once/twice a day-
this a great time to mix in Imuquin or L-Lysine Supplement
* Remember to keep kittens warm -this will be a very stessful time- Cat Clothes or you can use a sock - cut out a hole for the head and larger hole for front feet- it will work great for molting or hairless kittens
* Kittens love to play with lots of toys, scratching posts and climb on trees
* Sphynx & Devon Rex cats do need baths (use baby shampoo) and their ears cleaned-Yeast and oils look like dirt or ear mites- clean with dry Q-tip (don't clean too deep you don't want to damage the eardrum) - I also clip front claws at this time (info on claw clipping and training).
* Kittens have no or small eyelashes protect the eyes from dirt use eye cleaner. If a foreign body is in the eye and is causing eye irritation, use a eye ointment (Terramycin Ophthalmic Ointment)
* Tip for Kittens: Baby wipes work great alternate bathing
* First days keep carrier in same room with food, water and litter box(Fresh Step scoopable).
The kitten will come out when comfortable and explore.
