Ion Air Pro: (NZ $595)
Pros:
1. Looks great, feels like it is made well. It is shock resistant and water proof with no need for an external case.
2. Captures in HD which is great.
3. The app is easy to install and use, and you can remotely control the camera.
4. The buttons are easy to feel and manipulate even with gloves on.
5. Recharges very quickly.
Cons:
1. A bit heavy when mounted on top of a helmet.
2. No SD card, or helmet mount included in the box, for the price they really should include one.
3. The battery does not last very long when using the wifi mode.
Bottom line: (8.5/10)
Great camera probably the best one on the market, superior and easier to use than he GoPro.
Midland XTC: (NZ $299)
Pros:
1. Has a replaceable battery so you can use it on the go and no need to recharge if there are no plugs available.
2. Lenses are easy to replace and use, it comes with a wide angle option in the box.
3. Light and easily attachable to the helmet.
4. Comes with a cool little SD/USB convertor.
Cons:
1. Feels slightly plastic when comparing it to the Ion Air Pro but at half the price it is a good purchase.
2. Does not mount as easily or sturdily as the Ion Air Pro.
Bottom line: (6/10)
Good camera the picture is not as nice as the Ion Air Pro but for the price I don’t think you would find better. The mounting system could be slightly better thought out, with the mount at the front it does cause some leverage problems.
