“The clerical staff attended each commission meeting. In 1968, the accounting officer Peter Hodge left the service and was replaced by Dene Cordes who remains with the Service today and is the longest serving administrator in the history of national parks in South Australia. During the days of the National Parks Commission there was an excellent relationship between the Commission and both the ranger and clerical staff, but as time progressed and the number of employees with the Service increased a great deal of the personal touch was lost. The staff of the Commission worked as a happy team and it was a period when numbers of parks increased substantially throughout the State.”
