This website was set up as a collaborative space for people who know Dene Desmond Cordes PSM, and who wished to contribute material which may be included in the nomination process for an Order of Australia.
Update 11 June 2018 : Dene has been awarded his O.A.M. Congratulations, Dene, and all who have help him receive this recognition !
The nomination has been initiated (June 2016) by the Kangaroo Island Pioneers Association (KIPA), one of several organisation's Dene has founded, after his recent retirement from the executive committee, following many years of valuable service.
Those who know Dene well will attest to his indefatigable energy in many and varied activities that have had lasting benefits to the community; and would agree that he would be a worthy recipient of an Order of Australia, to honour his remarkable achievements.
The website has been set up with dedicated pages for each major "Activity" - a requirement of the nomination process. Those "Activities" are associated with a starting date which provide a navigation system (left hand column). Consider these pages to be a "scrapbook" where any relevant information to that activity can be collated for potential use.
If you know of anyone who has further information to contribute, please contact David Wilson.
Perhaps you are thinking of doing something similar? The application process took 2 years to evaluate. Four referees were required. Please read the information on the nomination form.
