GREAT TA! One of the best I’ve ever had.
He is funny while still being an excellent TA, he makes the classroom very comfortable while still maintaining professionalism.
The thorough explanations, sense of humor, willingness to alter class discussions with the preferences of students, and most importantly his understanding of math.
In all honesty, I think he is the best TA I have had. He does a great job with the material, and he knows how to get it to make sense.
I thought the teaching was top notch.
Balazs is the most helpful math TA I’ve ever had. I love his teaching style.
Balazs is really the best TA I’ve had at this university. He is clear concise, helpful and gives reason to mathematics.
Balazs is a good teacher for a difficult class. He does a good job in class and holds excellent review sessions. If I could have him as a discussion leader again, I would.
I have never understood a math teacher better. Great job! Future students would be lucky to have him.
Give him a raise!
Balazs is a gentleman and a scholar.
Balazs is the man.
He is unique and interesting, with focus on the general ideas behind problems.
He doesn’t just answer things for us, he encourages us to think.
The quizzes are very challenging, but this is what I like about them.
I like the worksheets and how he explains problems while still letting us solve them.
I like how he does not only repeat what was taught in lecture, but reinforces it with various examples. A short lecture and an effective worksheet go a long way for me.
I think Balazs is one of the best math TA’s I have had. He is always able to answer questions and is eager to teach us.
I like Balazs’s obvious passion for mathematics. With that, he brings energy to the subject and makes it fun.
I like that he always has a positive attitude and encourages us to do our best.
He makes math fun and actually cares if we are enjoying and understanding discussion.
I think we’re making shirts with a crazy bee on them. They will be very cool. [After illustrating the idea behind the Alternating Series Test with the story of the crazy bee.]
Incorporates interactive games/activities that make discussion more fun. Candy is nice, too.
I like how he explains things and how he incorporates games and humor into his teaching.
Applies problems to real-life situations.
I like your worksheets mostly because you put more effort into them for us. If we just got worksheets with a list of problems, I’d be less inclined to do them, but your fun facts make them more interesting.
Worksheets are fantastic! Keep mostly everything the same! I really like his dry sense of humor.
Group work: encourages class participation and cooperation; Worksheets: help organize and summarize the material. Worksheets have fun facts to keep us interested.
He really cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed.
Nothing is a stupid answer to him, and during office hours he does a great job explaining the material if you don’t understand.
Nice that he is always available when we have questions.
Very clear, fun, cares about his job, enjoys teaching, he knows everyone’s name. Doesn’t just go through the material. Makes sure everyone understands it.
Best math TA I’ve had. Very involved in how well the students learn the material. He is engaging and always open for questions.
He really cares about our success in the class and has emailed me about how I am doing in the class.
I like how he adjusts with us to fit our needs.
I liked that he realized certain things weren’t working at the beginning of the semester and asked for our opinion on how to use class time more efficiently, and then followed through with those suggestions.
He is continuously trying to change for the better and always looking what he should do differently.
If he didn’t explain something clearly, he will keep trying until we get it.
