Deepaknath Tandur is working as a principal research engineer in the R&D unit of HitachiABB Powergrid’s Bangalore center. He has over 10 years of industrial research experience in communication networks and solutions. Previously he worked as a principal scientist in ABB’s Indian corporate research center. His research interests are in the area of communication infrastructure solutions for critical industries such as power grids, software defined and intelligent autonomous networks, industrial IoT connectivity solutions and wireless networks. Deepak has written over 40 peer reviewed papers, and he holds over 10 patent applications. He has received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Leuven (K.U. Leuven), Belgium with focus on wireless communications and signal processing. He has a Masters degree in Embedded Systems Design from ALaRI, University of Lugano, Switzerland; and a Masters in Software Engineering from Scuola Superiore Sant Anna, Italy. He is an IEEE senior member and an executive committee member of PES Bangalore chapter.
