In practice, gray water reuse, which requires lower capital investment for treatment, is gaining momentum and is applied in individual houses, in blocks of flats or in commercial buildings. An example is shown on Figure 15. In many cases a combined gray water and rain water reuse is applied (Figure 16). Some sources mention that if reused in 24 h period, gray water does not need treatment. This information may be considered, but not recommended. Save applications require preliminary treatment. In all cases, storage of gray water for more then 24 h is not recommended due to the decomposition of organic material and unpleasant smells.
