In this article published by University of Toronto's ImmPress Magazine, immunology Ph.D student, Mayra Cruz Tleugabulova, interviewed me as well as other computational biologists to explore how biology produces and makes use of Big Data. She addresses some of the the strengths and weaknesses of the current status quo.
She concludes the article with "Dr. Winter envisions that in the future, bioinformatics will become an essential part of the basic biology training, thereby braking the Big Data barrier in biology."
