Another article in Nature on the standards of publishing. One among many, but it is rather thorough. Interestingly, it proposed preprints as a possible solution to publication time. Although that helps disseminate the data, it doesn't really decrease the time the authors spend on submission to a conventional journal. The article raises the issue of preprints being scooped. But I can't imagine someone stealing an idea from a preprint - that's low.
