The proof of Jehovah’s love is all around us, in his creation. When was the last time you looked up on a clear, dark night and really took in the vastness of the universe? Without a voice, without speech, without sound or words, the heavens are echoing one beautiful message from our Heavenly Father: “I love you!

I really loved this talk and video by the same name presented during our 2019 Regional Bible Convention, Creation Reveals Jehovah’s Love . The first minute and a half especially blew my mind:

“Everything on earth is made from fewer than 100 naturally occurring elements such as oxygen, carbon, calcium and iron. How are such elements formed? Many are created inside of stars where tremendous heat and pressure cause atoms to fuse together. Stars, like our Sun, fused hydrogen, the lightest element, to form helium, a heavier element. Helium fuses to make carbon. As the star progressively forms heavier elements, it becomes larger. Its core becomes hotter and denser. Eventually the core collapses on itself and the star explodes, becoming a supernova. A supernova forms even heavier elements and shoots them into space. The Bible does not describe exactly how Jehovah formed the earth. But Jehovah ensured that earth contains all of the elements needed for life. When I see your heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have prepared, what is mortal man that you keep him in mind and a son of man that you take care of him? (Psalm 8:3,4)”

Verse 3  mentions "the moon and the stars that you have prepared." What does the word prepare mean? To make ready beforehand for a specific purpose. Why did Jehovah create the heavens and the stars? And what does it reveal for us regarding Jehovah's love?

20% of our bodies  --  our cells, our organs -- are all made from carbon. It's the basic building block for life. Without carbon there would be no life. Jehovah created the stars to produce the materials needed to give us life. A supernova explosion is Jehovah's means to distribute the elements into the universe to be absorbed by our earth, giving us what we need for life. Can you hear it? Jehovah saying “I love you.” When Jehovah created the heavens it was like Planned Parenthood. He created the heavens with tremendous forethought, thinking about us. As humans we were not an afterthought in relation to the creation of the heavens, we were the forethought in relation to the creation of the heavens! When you look up at the stars, you're not simply witnessing the beauty of creation. You are looking at the factory producing the building blocks for life. We were not created for the universe ... the universe was created for us. Can you hear it? Jehovah saying “I love you.”

Psalm 33:6 reminds us that “By the word of Jehovah the heavens were made and by the spirit of his mouth everything in them.” Not an  accident. It wasn't some random act, it was a deliberate act, a deliberate effort, deliberate design.

How should this move us?

So next time you're out on a clear dark night, look up and listen to the silent witness. The stars don't speak with words, but their message is unmistakable: Jehovah loves each and every one of us.
