TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique) combines holding acupressure points on your head and going through a series of statements. The statements include an intention for safe and easy healing and a way for you to disconnect from traumas, negative emotions and self-limiting beliefs that have been affecting you since the moment they happened.
Imagine there is a part of you in every experience of your life. For each positive or negative experience, there is a piece of you left in it. When you think of memories that make you happy, like certain smells, places or even hearing a song, it almost feels like you are transported back to that moment. You find yourself smiling and remembering the happiness you felt.
The same kind of reaction happens when you are reminded of a trauma or negative experience. You can feel it in your whole body. A sinking sensation, your body tightening up, feeling fear, anxiety or worry, or a feeling of heaviness can come over you. You might even find yourself perspiring, your heart rate going up and your breathing becoming shallow. You are taken back to all the negative parts of the experience, and you are having a reaction to it because parts or pieces of you are stuck in that experience.
The TAT process clears your emotional connection to the trauma or negative experience. While you still have the memory, you no longer have the emotional charge, physical reaction, or stuck connection to it.
Once the emotional connection is cleared, you are no longer triggered by those memories. Your mind and body understand that it’s over and you are safe and okay.

At the time, Tom had terrible sinus problems, including a chronic runny nose, frequent colds, bronchitis and even recurring pneumonia. His body and his immune system did not seem to know how to calm down and differentiate which environmental substances were a threat, and which were neutral. His system was working overtime to defend him against almost everything.
When we began, I muscle tested Tom to see if his body knew how to reset his immune system and discovered (through a weak test) that “no it didn’t”. However, when we asked if a higher part of his being knew how to do this, the response was strong (indicating that the higher part of his being did know how to reset his immune system). We muscle tested other statements and found out that his immune system was afraid of giving up its fear. It was afraid that if it stopped being so hyper vigilant and overprotective (allergy symptoms), Tom would be in danger. Our job was then to reassure his immune system that he would be safe even if it no longer had so many inflammatory immune reactions. Tom’s allergies are gone now.

When someone is having a reaction to a substance they need to detox, you ask for what you want. If you’re allergic to certain foods, your body will hold on to water weight in order to try to dilute the poison it thinks that food is. Grains are usually the worst culprits. Bloat & fat. Use EFT to get the body to be OK with these foods.

Whether you are experiencing a real exposure or merely conjuring one up in your mind (e.g. imagine yourself chained to a perfume counter, with opened bottles all around you), focus on how it makes you feel. Fear? Anxiety? You want to run away? Physical overreaction to a stimuli? Pick the worst negative feeling at a time. Rate it on a scale of 1-10 and notice where in your body you feel it. When you are out in public you can use this technique by imagining you are tapping, and saying the words in your head. Your brain is smart enough to get the same benefit. I personally do find it more effective to tap physically but it still works when imagining the tapping.
The above “script” can be used as a guideline. You can add or subtract what you like, this is just what works for me. I found it really helpful to dig deep into why my brain decided it needed to be hypersensitive in the first place, and then tapped on that. At the time of my initiation into the Multiple Chemical Sensitivities club, I was being bombarded with sensitizing airborne stimuli. But I was also dealing with lots of scary stuff, like fresh memories from a personal case of pneumonia, dangerous reaction to antibiotics, and traumatic memories looking after my dying mother. Looking back with all that I’ve come to understand, I really believe that my brain’s fear centre got overloaded and ultimately concluded, “NOT SAFE!” The smells and chemicals represented the DANGER that I was being subjected to, and from this point on every time I was exposed to anything remotely similar to these chemicals, my amygdala ran the flight-or-fight program that wreaked havoc with my health. Doing all this tapping is replacing the old “NOT SAFE!” program with the “SAFE AND RELAX” program.

There is also a phenomenon called “Rain Barrel Effect” that can cause allergies. The immune system is constantly processing and dealing with the new foods, chemicals and toxins in our environment. If the body is overloaded, it becomes toxic and the immune system, lymph and liver can no longer process these toxins well. We become less able to handle the overload of toxicity and symptoms occur.
Traumatic events can also cause allergies to occur. Allergies can occur when a person is traumatized while certain foods are in their system. A person can also attach a trauma to certain substances, animals or inhalants. For example, my client’s cat allergy cleared after we cleared a traumatic event that happened with a cat she had when she was 7 years old.
You can successfully clear allergies with EFT. The simplest technique is to tap on the allergic substance, animal, inhalant etc.
I recommend that you do not use use this EFT Allergy Protocol on any food or substance that gives you an anaphylactic reaction or anaphylactic shock. Anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction that is rapid in onset and may cause death. It typically causes a number of symptoms including an itchy rash, throat swelling, and low blood pressure. Common causes include insect bites/stings, foods, and medications.
For the Allergy Protocol, I suggest that you put the item you are allergic to on your lap while you are tapping. Make sure that if it is a food, that it is in a glass container. If you are tapping for a pollen allergy, take a wet paper towel and wipe the hood of your car with it, you will pick up the pollens that have fallen there.

If it is a food say: “I ask my body to produce sufficient enzymes to safely and efficiently digest this substance.”
