Paper entitled "On the Path Loss Characteristics of Sub-6 GHz 6G Indoor Channels Enabled With Coded Metasurface Based Anomalous Reflectors" authored by Atli Lemma Gebretsadik (Ph.D. Student), Raju Malleboina (Ph.D. Student) and Debdeep Sarkar received Best Paper Award in the Antenna, Communication and Networking track of the multidisciplinary conference IEEE CONECCT 2024 organized by the IEEE Bangalore section from 12–24 July 2024, and held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India.
Keerthipriya Sathish (Ph.D. Student, ERP) from RRI (Raman Research Institute), Bengaluru with Professor Debdeep Sarkar (ECE, IISc) and co-guided by Dr Mayuri S Rao (RRI), has been selected as an awardee for the 2024 cycle of the IEEE AP-S (Antennas and Propagation Society) Fellowship Program. She will receive USD 5000 to support her research on antennas and RF chain design for precision cosmology.
Anand Kumar (Ph.D. Student) received funding through SERB ITS (International Travel Scheme) to present the work entitled "FDTD Modeling of Non-reciprocal RF Circuits using Modified Telegrapher’s Equations" in the International Microwave Symposium (IMS), Washington DC, USA, Date: 16 to 21 June 2024.
Atli Lemma Gebretsadik (Ph.D. Student) won the Best Student Paper Award in WAMS 2024 for his paper entitled "A Three-Ray Path Loss Model with Polarization Effects for Indoor Single-Input Single-Output Millimeter-Wave Channel Modelling Applications".
Anand Kumar (Ph.D. Student) received the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society Graduate Fellowship in the 2024 cycle. Up to 12 Fellowships in the amount of USD 6000 are granted by the IEEE MTT-S each year to assist students pursuing a graduate degree in microwave engineering.
Paper entitled "In-house experimental demonstration of a 4 port antenna system and Wilkinson power combiner for rectenna applications in n78 band" authored by Debarati Ganguly (Post-Doctoral Research Fellow), Jogesh Chandra Dash (Post-Doctoral Research Fellow) and Debdeep Sarkar won the the Best Paper Award (Second Position) in the Academia Category of IEEE Microwaves and Antenna Conference (MAPCON 2023).
Debaprasad Barad (M.Tech. ERP Student) won the first prize (PG Category) for his presentation in SYRES (Symposium of Research Scholars) 2023, jointly organized by IEEE AP-MTT Chapters of Hyderabad and Pune Section.
Anand Kumar (Ph.D. Student) has been selected as an awardee for the 2023 cycle of the IEEE AP-S (Antennas and Propagation Society) Fellowships Program. As the award value, Anand will receive APSF payment in one installment of US$5000, to carry out the proposed research project on Space-Time Engineered Reflective and Transmissive Metasurfaces (July 31, 2023).
