During High School, Debbi sang at many local churches and for organizations like The Monday Night Music Club in Sandy Lake, The Lakeview United Methodist Church. She most fondly remembers a group of young singers from all of the area churches that combined to perform "Tell It Like It Is" to prove how the youth of the area could all work together in praise and song. Debbi was honored to be at the top of her young game at Honors Chorus, District, Regional and finally PA State Choir.
She moved on to hone her talents while studying in college at Clarion State College (PA), Old Dominion (VA), and BC3 in (Butler, PA) where she majored in music education and performance. She had her first TV experience in Norfolk singing for the PBS station in a production of The Christmas Story as a Pop Opera. In Bulter, Pa, Debbi was the moderator for a local radio program that reported the news for the college and the area happenings. She later moved to NYC to pursue her career full time, which she found to be thrilling and a lot of hard work.
Debbi performed in the city and on tour with NYGASP (the predominant G&S company in the city) where she starred opposite John Reed from the Doyle Carte from London. She later completed three seasons touring South Florida where she headlined in her one-woman show to sold out audiences. Recently, she was a headliner at the opening ceremonies for The Great Stoneboro Fair - The Pennsylvania State Fair in Mercer County.
She can be found singing at nightclubs in NYC and the tri-state area from time to time and is well known for her benefit work to support churches she works with as a cantor and soprano soloist. Debbi has directed a number of artists in the nightclub arena at clubs such as Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex, Rose's Turn, 88's, etc. where she revels in their accomplishments.
In addition to her nightclub performances ...she is no stranger to the theatrical stage, where she was The Soprano in the NY production of Terrance McNally's PRELUDES AND RIFTS. Debbi starred in the title role in the NY Gilbert & Sullivan Players production of PATIENCE, sharing the stage with John Reed from The Doyle Carte (Gilbert & Sullivan's London Company). She created the lead role of Esmeralda in the LA production of the Kamen-Apter musical HUNCHBACK, and Tracy in the Broadway bound musical STARS.
