Daniel Corey

I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  My research is in algebraic geometry and tropical geometry. Specifically, I use tropical techniques to study algebraic varieties, especially Grassmannians, flag varieties, curves, and moduli spaces.  My research also meets the following areas: graphs, matroids, polytopes, and surface topology.  Software is an essential feature in my work, both to explore and test hypotheses and for proving new theorems.  Previously, I was a postdoctoral research assistant at Technische Universität Berlin and a  Van Vleck Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I received my Ph.D. at Yale University in 2018.
