Donna began life as Donna Jeanne Belat

on December 19, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio,

the daughter of John Ralph Belat and Beryl Ayers Belat

Donna moved around a great deal due to her father's employment,

mostly in Ohio and West Virginia -- with a year in Kansas City, Missouri

for good measure.

She did manage to complete all four years of high school in one spot:

Charleston, West Virginia (Charleston High School, Class of 1944).
