Getting to Know the Language

As with each online tool, there is a specific set of vocabulary you need to be aware of in order to speak intelligently (and decipher what your friends are saying).

Stream = your news feed

Circle = to friend someone; to follow

Uncircle = to unfriend someone; to unfollow

+1-ed = to like a post; to favorite a tweet; also called plussed

Followers = friends or fans that have you in their circles

Hangout = video calling

Circle Sunday = Follow Friday

Accessing Google+

1. Open Google+

2. Enter your username and password > Sign in.

Note: You'll automatically be signed in to Google+ if you've already signed in to another Google product in the same browser.

    1. Launched in June 2011

    2. Has grown to over 500 million users

    3. Daily active users = 350 million

    4. +1 button is used 5 billion times per day

    5. ~625,000 new users on Google+ every day

    6. 68% of Google+ users are male, 32% are female

    7. Google+ cost $585 million and took 500 employees to build
