about the author

I have been interested in Day Without Art since 1989, when my undergraduate college participated in the first DWA. In 2008, I was awarded a LAUC-R (Librarians Association of the University of California, Riverside) grant to do research on Day Without Art activities in Southern California during the years 1989-2008. This project will create two outcomes. The first is to create a bibliography on ‘Day Without Art.’ The second consists of creating a timeline and history of Day Without Art events at cultural institutions in the greater Los Angeles region dating from 1989-2008.

My educational background includes a BA in art history from California State University, San Bernardino, a MA in the History and Theory of Art and Architecture from Binghamton University, and a MLS (Masters of Library Science) from the University at Buffalo.
