Dawnalee's Legal Docs ("DLD") was created by Dawnalee Brooking in 2005. The
success of the business is inspiring. One day in January, 2006, Dawnalee Brooking
was hit by a drunk driver. It was then Dawnalee realized that now was the time to
live every day as if it were her last. Her hopes, dreams, and passion in life were to
one day have her own business in the legal field to help others. Her passion of
business ownership and helping others with their legal problems have come true.
She began a mobile document service and has helped thousands of satisfied
customers. Email today, or book an appointment to get a free quote for experienced,

Training & Experience
Dawnalee graduated from Sawyer College and obtained a diploma in Paralegal
Studies in 1993. After graduation she did an internship for a general practice law
firm. When she graduated, the market was flooded. She took temporary positions in
several firms - some solo and some large corporate law firms to gain more
experience.
In 2000, she took a position at Alum Rock Counseling Center, a non-profit agency
which helps thousands of troubled youth get counseling services. Late 2005,
Dawnalee took a position as Head Paralegal at the law offices of Paul Gumina. After
being hit by a drunk driver, she obtained a business license, authorization to prepare
taxes by the IRS and a Commission to notarize documents issued to her by the
Secretary of the State of California.
Laws for paralegals changed on January 1 st, 2000, only paralegals working directly
for attorneys were referred to as paralegals. Those formerly known as Independent
Paralegals were officially known as Legal Document Assistants (LDAs).
LDAs often have the same educational background as a paralegal and are REQUIRED
by law to have proper experience and training, pass a background check, to be
registered, and to be bonded in the county in which they have their principal place of
business. An LDA is an experienced professional who is authorized to prepare legal
documents for a client.
On January 30, 2011, Dawnalee obtained her registration to become an LDA. DLD is
exempt from registration.
