I have worked with David for about the last two years. Initially I was comp supervisor for Narnia 2, and David worked as a team lead on the character Trufflehunter the badger, then later on Australia where we split comp supervision duties between us.
In that time he has developed greatly, and I consider him a massive asset to our dept. He has a huge variety of skills, he is as at home in 3d based work as 2d, indeed he has developed many impressive tools for us, used daily in both areas. He isn't scared to try new things, and great result have come of this.
David is also a do-er he takes on tasks and development (beyond his regular role) and just gets things done. As a lead he is organised, communicates well, is considerate to his team and well liked by everyone. He also has an amazing capacity to take on board feedback from the crew on how to improve workflow and feed that back into our pipeline.
It's a real shame that he thinks it's time to move on, he had a strong future in our dept and I'll be very sorry to see him go.

David has led the compositing team at Prime Focus on many projects during my time there. His team has always been well organised, productive and above all happy. David spends a lot of time on advice and training, and bringing up to standard the more junior members. He has a calm attitude that helps enormously in high pressure situations. The team he helped to build at Prime Focus is one of the best compositing teams I’ve ever worked with.

When I first met David, he had just joined as the Compositing Supervisor of our team. A bit more than three years later I can safely say that he is the person I've learned the most from at Prime Focus.
David is an excellent team leader, always available and helpful. His skills in compositing are outstanding and more importantly, he is not shy in sharing them. He is an inquisitive person, keen to discover new techniques from others or by himself. The compositing department at Prime Focus wouldn't be the same without him. I hope I'll have the chance to work with him again in the future
