We are looking for two talented Postdoctoral fellows and two Research Interns for the joint project between Skoltech and MIT titled: Energy Systems Planning for Government Regulations: New Formulations, Models and Algorithms at the Center of Energy Systems of Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech). This work is supported by Skoltech NGP Program (Skoltech-MIT joint project).

The position location is in Moscow, Russia. No knowledge of Russian language is requested (language at Skoltech is English).

What we request

We seek candidates with strong competencies in mathematical modeling, optimization, statistical analysis and machine learning. Knowledge of power systems and programming software (Julia software is a plus). Detailed information for each vacancy can be found below.

The Postdoctoral fellows are expected to possess a Ph.D. or equivalent, preferably in operations research, control engineering, computer science, mathematics, or statistics. The Research Interns are expected to possess an MSc or equivalent in any of the above-mentioned areas.

1 Postdoctoral Fellow and 1 Research Intern in development of new electricity and gas network planning to account for proper probabilistic representation of correlations and underlying physical laws.

The position will need skills preferably in power engineering, control engineering, operational research and/or some knowledge graphical models (machine learning). The ability to code and solve large-scale problems is positively accounted.

1 Postdoctoral Fellow and 1 Research Intern in development of new software machine-learning-based framework and tools to express the complex energy-problems in a transparent semantic representation.

The position will need skills preferably in machine learning, operational research, statistics and software development. Additional knowledge of power engineering and control engineering is a plus.
