These imaginary landscape paintings are visually inspired by late 19th century travel photography and early 20th century travel, instructional, and industrial films about (formerly?) colonized lands. They were spurred by my interest in postcolonial studies, current decolonization trends, and Orientalist tropes in Western painting.
