David is a Professor at the Centre for Health Economics, Monash Business School, Monash University.
His broad research interests include health economics, labour economics, and applied microeconometrics. He is particularly interested in the economics of mental health and wellbeing, resilience, and the impacts of people's environment. New research on these topics can be found on David's Google Scholar page.
His current research is funded by ARC Discovery Projects titled "Economic Analysis of Child Maltreatment and Child Protection" and "Quantifying the Economic Causes and Costs of Family and Domestic Violence ", the Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments (RISE) program, and the Fire to Flourish program.
Recently completed projects include an ARC Discovery Project titled "Microeconometric Analysis of Socioeconomic Inequity in Mental Healthcare", an ARC Linkage Project with Beyond Blue titled "Insecure Work and the Mental Health of Workers and their Families", and a Department of the Treasury project on "Climate, Labour Supply and Productivity".
