The majority of my publications involve algorithms and methodologies for physical design and verification at the most advanced process nodes. This is where intelligent software tackles the most difficult and historically labor-intensive tasks in CPU/GPU chip design.
Since 2009, I have also been passionate about applying machine learning / deep learning to EDA. In our ASPDAC'12 Best Paper Award, a deep ensemble of neural networks and SVMs was proposed to solve the lithographic hotspot detection problem - a critical part in battling manufacturing yield. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this was the first of its kind in EDA.
