I have quite a diverse skill set which has been gained through the completion of various courses and through life experiences.
What is great about my skill set is that they are transferable and can be applied to a range of academic, professional and family situations.
Some of the skills that I find to be most valuable include:
Planning:
- The ability to plan how an assignment, project or event should be done is invaluable and I have had lots of practice at planning all three. Of course, this transferable skill also comes in handy for when birthdays or holidays need to be planned.
Organising:
- The ability to break down a project or event into smaller packets of work and then organise and prioritise these packets of work has led to the execution of many successes. I believe that i would truly be lost without this ability to organise.
Time Management:
- Time management is such an underappreciated skill which shows its value when completing and executing assignments, projects and events. The ability to be able to manage your time enables the completion of the necessary tasks in a timely fashion. Time management also allows people to be punctual which goes along way towards professionalism.
Teamwork:
- The ability to work in a team is a skill which is so valuable in today's world. A lot of the tasks that are required to be completed in various business sectors are now executed in a team environment. The great thing about working in teams is that you are exposed to different opinions and ways of thinking. This diversity of opinions can then help with the creation of a solution to the current problem.
Ability to work on your own:
- As important is the ability to work on your own. Sometimes a task needs to be completed independently and the ability to do this with little or no supervision is very important. Often, this requires the completion of extra research and outside-the-box thinking in order to come up with a way of completing the required task.
Problem Solving:
- The ability to come up with a number of possible solutions for a required task or problem is invaluable in the business world. Day in and day out, there are situations which require the creation and implementation of a solution which best fits all the needs of the organisation. To this end, a number of possible solutions must be first be devised and then prioritised before agreeing on an ultimate solution.
Other Skills that I possess include;
Data input, Microsoft Office suite, Report writing, Active listening skills, Taking minutes, Running meetings, Delegating, Budgeting, Cash handling, Merchandising and Multi-tasking.
