Portland Transit Mall - Portland, OR (1977)
The Portland Transit Mall refers to a set of public transportation corridors which cut through the center of Downtown Portland, Oregon. First opening in 1977, the Portland Transit Mall was a central destination for all buses which traveled downtown: north on 6th and south on 5th between West Burnside Street and Southwest Madison Street. It was later extended north through Chinatown to Union Station/Greyhound in 1994.
This built on TriMet's adoption of Fareless Square in 1975 to push the city towards becoming one of the nation's most successful and studied public transportation systems.
As TriMet added light rail to the public transportation system traveling East-West on Southwest Yamhill and Southwest Morrison respectively in 1986, the Portland Transit Mall became an even more central part of Portland's strategy to promote healthy living and clean environment through public transportation.

Orbanco Building (Congress Center) - Portland, OR
Congress Center (Formerly the Orbanco Headquarters Building and Security Pacific Plaza) is an office building in Portland, Oregon. It is currently the seventh tallest building in the city. The current name is taken from the Congress Hotel which sat on this site from 1912 until the late 1970's. The firm of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM) designed the Congress Center, which opened in 1980.
The reflective, dark glass contrasts with the mostly white or lighter colored architecture common in Portland's architectural history. However, the highly reflective surface of Congress Center's glass curtain walls reflect all the nearby buildings. Arches from the old Congress Hotel were restored for use as an entry to a lower level restaurant.

Boeing 777 Office Building - Everett , WA
At 2,154,000 SF, this office facility serves as the gateway to a secure industrial campus for one of the world's leading companies. The facility was built to consolidate employees from 14 separate locations into one for the production of the 777 aircraft. The 777 Building is a large, complex project. At the time of construction, it was the largest such office complex built in Washington state. Because of the 777 Building's complexity, DLR Group coordinated document production with the contractor for six months prior to construction; it was completed so successfully that it won AGCW's “Excellence in Construction” Award.
The 777 Building project scope encompassed designing a secure office environment-supported by amenity and assembly areas---within a campus setting. Extensive site and building planning of 80 acres was necessary to accommodate the complex at the existing campus, while protecting significant wetlands nearby. Site work included the relocation of arterials, major regrading, and landscaping. Consideration was also given to vehicular circulation, campus continuity, parking, pedestrian circulation, security provisions, views, campus entry, efficiency of land use, solar orientation and utility access.
Zoning height limitations necessitated a very large building footprint to provide 1,200,000 SF of office space. As a result, two balanced, four-story towers were designed with staggered corner setbacks further modulate the massing of the project, the facility resting on two levels of structured parking for 2,000 cars. A covered pedestrian way extends to additional parking for another 4,000 vehicles.
Interior spaces included private offices and open office areas; a cafeteria with kitchen; servery; a grand dining hall, convertible to a broadcast-ready media center; a central, daylit atrium for assembly and three exterior plazas.
