V-types in the inner main belt

Typical Vesta fugitives in the inner main belt (a<2.3 and around scattered resonaces) should have retrograde rotations (Nesvorny et al. 2008). Retrograde rotators are driven by the Yarkovsky drift inwards the Solar System, as opposed to prograde rotators which migrate outwards. In this study we plan to determine the sense of rotation of inner main-belt V-type asteroids to probe their genetic link to the Vesta family.

The table below contains our targets for photometric survey of V-types in the inner main-belt outside the Vesta dynamical family.

2016 - Observed objects in 2016
