Cyril is an artist working in mixed media. Art school trained, he won a scholarship to the The Gateway School in Leicester.
He fought during the Second World War and during those years established a close friendship with the artist Cuneo. Throughout this period both artists were involved in cartography.
Cyril lives in the Isle of Thanet. He has a daughter, Linda, and two grand-children, Freddie and Charles. At 96 he is often seen with a paint brush or pencil in hand. While painting is his first love Cyril also plays the organ and takes a keen interest in current affairs. He learnt German so he could read Goethe. He voted at the polling station in the May 2010 general election. From time to time we will be displaying archive material illustrating the variety of styles he has employed in producing his artwork for so many remarkable years, so please look back as we continue to catalogue and display the vast amount of work he has produced.
