The Archimedean Point is the name of my blog/newsletter on Substack. I regularly publish short essays (generally between 1000 and 2000 words, but occasionally more) on various topics broadly related to my academic interests at the intersection of economics, philosophy, and politics. I view this newsletter as more than a mere distraction from my academic work. First, I use it to test ideas that will later feature in my academic writings, as well as to make accessible to a broader audience my research. Second, this newsletter is part of my endeavor to make public contributions to important political and economic debates at the heart of our liberal democracies. The writings in this newsletter are therefore engaged in the sense that they are explicitly based on value commitments that reflect my conception of the good society.
