Cwrt has
1. A diesel generator, which supplies power for lighting and electrical appliances and an inverter system to provide power for lighting when the generator is not required
2. Gas lighting.
3. Water supply is not drinking water as it is taken from the stream. For drinking water add purifying tablets or bring bottled water.
4. Four bedrooms with mattresses, accommodating upto 16 people (bed linen not supplied)
5. Two shower/toilet rooms
6. Main lounge with large open fireplace
7. Dining kitchen area with:
a. Fully fitted kitchen
b. Coal burning boiler providing hot water and central heating
c. Power sockets for electrical appliances
d. Electric kettle, toaster and microwave
e. 8 ring gas cooker with 2 ovens and grill
f. Fridge with small icebox
g. Crockery, cutlery and cookware provided.
8. There are no telephones at Cwrt. There are phone boxes located on the main road in both directions from Cwrt. Currently there is good reception for mobile phones on the Vodaphone network, but not on any other networks.
9. There is a meter that takes one and two pound coins to pay for the electric.
Important items to take:
1. Sleeping bags or bed linen and pillows
2. Coal for boiler and fire
3. Wood/kindling
4. £1 & £2 coins for meter
5. Matches/firelighters
6. Torch
7. Toiletries including toilet rolls
8. Tea towels and towels
9. Purifying tablets or bottled water
10. Refuse sacks
11. Basic cleaning materials eg:
a. Washing up iquid
b. Washing up sponge
c. Dishcloths
d. Surface cleaner
e. Floor cleaner etc
Local shops/banks/amenities
There are small shops where you can get basic provisions at the log cabin near Bronaber and the Spar in Trawsfynydd. There is a large supermarket in Dolgellau. You will find banks and cashpoint in Trawsfynydd and Dolgellau. The garage at the end of the Bala road (A4121) near Trawsfynydd usually has a good stock of coal and wood.
