REED INSTRUMENTS: Some woodwind instruments use a mouthpiece with a reed. A reed is a thin strip of material that vibrates to produce a sound on a musical instrument.

Clarinets
Clarinets are reed instruments.
The most common types of clarinets are the Bb clarinet, the bass clarinet, the A clarinet, the Eb clarinet, the contrabass clarinet, the contra-alto clarinet, and the alto clarinet.
Oboe
Oboes are a double reed instrument.
The most "in-tune" instrument in the orchestra! It is the instrument you hear that tunes the orchestra before they begin!
