Short Bio 

Xinggang Wang is an Assistant Professor in the School of Electronic Information and Communications in Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research interests are computer vision and machine learning. He completed his Ph.D. and B.E. in Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2014 and 2009 respectively. During his Ph.D. period, he visited UCLA and Temple University where he was supervised by Prof. Alan Yuille and Prof. Longin Latecki, respectively. He also worked in the visual computing group in Microsoft Research Asia as an intern, supervised by Prof. Zhuowen Tu and collaborated with Prof. Yi Ma.

    • I am supervised by Prof. Alan Yuille and working on object recognition using compositional models.
  • Intern @ Microsoft Research Asia, China, 12/2011 - 11/2012 
    • I was mentored by Prof. Zhuowen Tu and collaborated with Prof. Yi Ma, worked on the applications of low-rank optimization, object recognition, object discovery in un-labeled images, and semi-supervised codebook learning.
  • Visiting Scholar @ Temple University, USA, 06/2010 - 08/2011 
    • I was supervised by Prof. Longin Latecki and worked on object detection, image classification, shape based object modeling and machine learning.
