Everything You Need to Social Dance West Coast Swing Comfortably
The Basics Bootcamp is designed to help you feel relaxed and successful on the social dance floor. This class is ideal for newcomers and beginners, as well as dancers who have been dancing for up to a year and want stronger fundamentals. You’ll focus on the core patterns and skills used in nearly every West Coast Swing dance, including passes, footwork, sugar pushes, starters, baskets, and whips. Rather than memorizing moves, this workshop helps you understand how West Coast Swing works — connection, timing, and movement — so you can dance comfortably with a wide variety of partners and feel confident joining social dances.
Intermediate Workshops
Expanding Your Basics with Confidence, Musicality, and Variety
The Intermediate workshops are for dancers who know the basics of West Coast Swing and are ready to do more with them. These classes focus on improving confidence, flow, footwork, musical adaptability, and movement choices, rather than teaching long or complicated patterns. You’ll learn how to add styling to your basics, adapt your dancing to different styles of music beyond blues, and explore direction changes that take your dancing off the slot while maintaining connection and comfort. These workshops are especially valuable for dancers who have been dancing for years but feel limited to basic patterns and want their dancing to feel more expressive, musical, and playful.
