Curriculum Vitae

Javier Nuñez-Villalba is a Geographical Engineer graduated from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (La Paz, Bolivia) with a Master's Degree in Geographic Information Technologies from the University of Alcalá de Henares (Spain).

He worked as a consultant in Territorial Planning for the Municipality of La Paz and an adjunct researcher at the French Institute for Research and Development (IRD).

 His lines of interest are: geographic information tools (Remote Sensing and GIS), monitoring of the earth's surface, vulnerability, risks and disasters

 He has presented several conferences on the topic of Space Monitoring with Geographic Information Technologies in Argentina, Germany, Brazil, the United States, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and Panama.

 He was Director of the Geographical Research Institute (IIGEO) of the Geographical Engineering Career at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) in Bolivia (2014-2020).

He is currently a Professor of Photointerpretation (MAP301) and Remote Perception (MAP400). In research he directs the Geomatics Laboratory of the IIGEO UMSA.
