Who can participate?

Cupertino Area Residents.

How much does it cost?

It costs $50 for 5 holidays. It will be prorated at $10 per holiday if you sign up after the start of the year

Where does the money go?

The money goes to the Cupertino Rotary Endowment Fund, a 501 (c) charity. The funds are then dispensed to the many projects Cupertino Rotary does locally.

When will the flag post/sleeve be put in ?

We will schedule a visit with you prior to the first holiday to locate the appropriate location for the flag. We will rely on you to indicate any concerns about underground piping or electrical

Who do I contact if I need the flag sleeve moved ?

Please contact Seema Handu (seemahandu@gmail.com), she will arrange with the installers to move it or re-install as neccessary.

When will the flag be put up and taken down?

The flag and post will be installed a day or two before the holiday and remain until a day after. In the case of rain we will allow a day or two after the rain stops to allow the flag to dry

Can I fly my flag 24 hours a day

It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset. The American Legion and other veteran organizations support this protocol. We ask that you retire the flag each evening. It is easy to pull the flag pole and reinsert

What happens if it rains?

We ask that you remove the flag from its sleeve and put in a protected place until the rain stops. Rain will not hurt the flag but loving care will prolong the life

Do I have to sign up every year or does it just continue?

Each year we will send you a notification requesting your approval along with payment. Renewal is completely your option

Can I purchase a Gift certificate for another Cupertino resident?

Yes. Great gesture and very thoughtful gift. Just fill out an application in their name and submit with payment
