Silence: An exhibition of photographs by Pamela de Brí 1 February – 25 April 2011
Exhibition Launch: Thursday 10 February 6.30 – 8.30pm
Art at The Ivy House is delighted to present a solo exhibition of new work by artist Pamela de Brí. Her work is concerned with the infinite continued progress of existence and events in the past and the present. Through her explorations of the transience of culture, she offers us a perspective on temporality, utilizing the varying medium in her work to comment on and respond to an ever-evolving world, thereby critiquing values and trends that result from social and political changes.
2. Unveiling The Broadstone Project
A recent acquisition for Kildare County Council’s Municipal Collection, The Broadstone Project by Pamela de Brí, is a series of photographs of the abandoned and condemned sheds, beside the Bus Éireann depot, in Broadstone, Dublin 2. They explore the history of the location and of the people who worked there. The poignant, yet vibrant images ultimately seek to express a sense of wonder and admiration for the skills used there. The photographs will be on long term exhibition in Kildare Town Library
