The 2014 Webelos Outdoor Challenge was held October 24-26 at Boxwell Scout Reservation in Lebanon, TN. It was a great event for all who attended.
The year before that, our Webelos participated in the 2013 Webelos Outdoor Challenge hosted by Boy Scout Troop 911. It was a FANTASTIC event and a fun-filled weekend! The theme was "Zombie Apocalypse".
Our boys learned about First Aid, shelter and tent building (not the pop-up kind), outdoor cooking, and campfires. We were also able to visit with 9 local Boy Scout Troops to see what they have to offer when we DO cross-over.
Troop 911 were AWESOME hosts, and the entire week-end was led by Boy Scouts. It was "hands-on" training that centered around learning/improving outdoor skills and to introduce them to what it is like operating as "patrols" (ours with Troop 777), as they will once they cross-over to the Boy Scouts.
And, as ALL BSA camps/campouts do, we earned Webelos Pins, beltloops and sports pins that are required for Advancement.
