First a quick introduction to what CFOP or the fridrich method is.
CFOP stands for Cross, First two layers (f2l), Orientation of the last layer (OLL), and Permutation of the last layer(PLL). These are the four different steps you do when using the fridrich method to solve a Rubiks cube.
Now I will go over each step with a bit more detail.
The Cross:
The cross is the first step in CFOP. To get a cross you need to get for edge pieces from one face and put them next to their corresponding centres. For example an edge piece with white and green on it would have its white face next to the white centre and its green face next to the green centre.
This is what a white cross would look like.
F2L:
F2L is the second step in CFOP. F2l means First two layers or to complete the first two layers like this:
Here are the pairs by themselves:
To do this you must get all the corner and edge "pairs" into the right position. for example a pair with a corner that had white blue and red and an edge that had blue and red would go like this:
Oll and 2 look OLL:
Oll is the third step in CFOP. OLL and 2 look Oll stands for Orientation of the Last Layer which means to use algorithms to change which way the pieces on the top of the cube are facing like this:
If you just use OLL then you only use one algorithm, their are 57 algorithms all together, but when you use 2 look OLL you use two algorithms(their are 8 algorithms you need to know in 2 look OLL) .
In 2 look instead of going straight to all the pieces facing up you do something like this:
=>=>=>
PLL and 2 look PLL:
PLL is the last step in CFOP. Pll stands for Permutation of the Last Layer, in PLL you move the pieces of the top layer around to get them in to the right position and finally complete the cube (their are 21 different algorithms to learn in PLL).
When PLL is completed the cube goes from this:To this:
2 look PLL has only 2 algorithms and looks something like this:
=>=>
Now that you what each step does you can learn how to do them.
I will link to a few websites I have found that help you to learn CFOP and a few YouTube videos I've seen.
-UKcubestore has a great fridrich method or CFOP tutorial on their website with details about each step and lots of algorithms with images for each step. You can find their website here
-ruwix.com has another good CFOP tutorial with algoritms and pictures to help you even an animation to help. You can find a link to their website here.
-I have made a playlist of all of Paradox Cubing's CFOP tutorial videos which i have found very useful. Click here for the playlist.
UKcuber has a good CFOP tutorial playlist on his channel ,here, he has a video for each step and videos for the different Pll Permutation algorithms.
All the images I have used are from Google images I do not own any of them.
