Purpose of this ePortfolio

I would like to use this learning portfolio to keep track of my process of learning and development as well as track my footprints. As i am a Year 1 student in CityU, this portfolio can help me to transit from secondary schools to the university's study and life with a clear goal and direction. By declaring my missions here, i can always check out my outcomes and achievements periodically with the aim to guide me to develop my desired graduate attributes.

In addition, i can identify my strengths by demonstrating the achievements and growth over time and weaknesses by recognizing which abilities i am lacking of. After that, it guides me what i should do next.

Using this ePortfolio, it enourages reflections and life-long learning. Eventually, it helps me prepare for my Employment Portfolio for future studies and career. Most importantly, I can record my experience which i have done already that fosters my learning and personal development.

Firstly, my aim is to advance my whole-person development which foster positive attitudes toward difficulties as well as build up indomitable personalities by participating in voluntary works.

Secondly, the most fundamental step for me to step over is scoring a satisfactory results in Year 1 in order to build up a firm ground which helps future studies.

Apart from it, developing team spirit and leadership skill are my next mission. Managing business activities can provide me a opportunity to practice what I have learned from classes.

Reflections & Future Direction

Although i have just attended CityU for two months, my study life starts to be busy and loads of projects and assignments emerge which makes University life different from the one in secondary. From the CityU Department Orientation Camp, i have learned the interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for students studying in management sciences to express their views and cooperate with others. Moreover, independent thinking is also developed since iIneed to handle problems without the help from group leaders. I also learned how to lead team members and work as a team. Team spirit is up to scratch. These abilities contribute to whole-person development typically.

For future direction, i am going to join more extra-curricular activities, especially concerning the business field in order to broaden my social exposure. Knowledge form lectures are surely insufficient for me to acquire the expertise so as to become competitive. Therefore, i plan to study extra courses organized by outside business organization. Also, joining competition held in University serves as a way for me to show what i got.

Overall, this eportfolio can record my progress to success and always remind me of what is my next step to go as well as classify my strengths and weaknesses.

I will try my best to study hard, strength my abilities and overcome obstacles effectively. Focus on the majors which facilitate my future career is also essential.
