History

Clean Steel Laboratory (CSL) was established in 2005 as one of first laboratories of Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology (GIFT), Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). It was transferred from Department of Materials Science and Engineering, POSTECH, led by Dr. Hae-Geon Lee.

Dr. Henry Gaye joined this laboratory after a long time working at IRSID, France in 2005.

Dr. Sung-Mo Jung joined this laboratory from GSIST, POSTECH in 2005.

Dr. Sang-Joon Kim joined this laboratory from POSCO in 2007.

Dr. Henry Gaye retired in 2009, and came back to France.

Dr. Sung-Mo Jung moved to Environmental Metallurgy Laboratory (EML), GIFT, POSTECH.

Dr. Youn-Bae Kang joined this laboratory from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, Canada in 2009.

Dr. Hae-Geon Lee retired in 2012, and was appointed as "Professor Emeritus".

Dr. Jung-Wook Cho joined this laboratory from POSCO in 2012.

Dr. Sang-Joon Kim resigned in 2014.

Dr. Jung-Wook Cho moved to Casting Technology Laboratory (CTL), GIFT, POSTECH in 2016.

Dr. Joo Choi joined this laboratory from POSCO in 2020.
