Grades

Attendance is mandatory: If an attendance exception needs to be made, arrangements can be made for you to attend another class section, preferably during the same week, but an absence can only be made up if it is excused by the instructor, and it is your responsibility to contact the instructor if you know you need to miss class in advance, or as soon as reasonably possible otherwise. Missing any class at all (unless it is excused and made up) WILL negatively affect your grade.

1. • *YOU CAN FAIL THIS CLASS FOR NOT SHOWING UP. There are a total of 14 classes during the semester, but credit is earned for attending classes in pairs (so there are seven pairs of classes); thus, to earn credit for attending each of the seven pairs of classes, you must attend BOTH classes in the pair. Every time you miss a class without being excused and making up the class, you will lose credit for one of the seven pairs, which will generally lower your final grade by 5%; further, if you miss 7 classes or more, you will lose enough points that it will generally not be possible to get a passing grade, even if you get 100% of the credit for the paper and presentation, which account for the rest of the course grade.

Papers must be submitted on time. Every Day paper is late it will be 10% off your grade
