Expectations & Information
- Guidelines: Follow the Guidelines for Residents and Fellows from the University, the College, the Department, the Division and the Plastic Surgery Program.
- Medical Records: Medical records are to be dictated immediately and reviewed in a timely manner, at least weekly. They should be reviewed and signed so that I can sign them in a timely manner. If the resident does not review and sign the medical record, then I cannot review and sign. If I do not sign the medical records, then I may be suspended from the medical staff. The individual institutions can assist you in this process of medical records review. If your medical records are not reviewed, corrected, and/or signed electronically within one month, then you may not be allowed to participate in clinical activities until completed. You may be suspended and relieved of patient care duties until your medical records are completed.
- Contact Information: At night and on weekends, I am usually at home. I turn my pager off at night, therefore call me at home. When paging me to a number, please place a 7 digit # (xxx-xxxx) into the pager. I do not know which prefix to use if you only place 4 digits. Try to find a number that I can call directly, so I do not have to call back through an operator. I do not routinely answer pages that are out of the local area codes 813- and 727-. If you page me, please page me to a local number such as hospital, home, or cell phone.
- Note: I do not carry my cell phone with me at all times. I do not answer my cell phone at all times. I do not listen to voice mail to my cell phone routinely.
